Qi Transitions are Potent 2025-2026
Welcome Year of the Fire Horse: 2026
Year of the Wood Snake transitions to Year of the Fire Horse
I invite you to exhale, take a seat, and give some space for this month’s newsletter, and contemplative practice offering. Please feel free to share this newsletter.
As we near the end of the Wood Snake year on February 16, 2026 and welcome the Year of the Fire Horse on February 17, 2026, I invite us to take some time during this transition zone to be intentional and consciously aware of what we have shed this year. Take a moment to be grateful for your practices, and your shifts with a tender kind heart for yourself and everyone that you meet and interact with.
As you may be feeling vulnerable to the spirals of highs and lows between the stirrings of old and new, it is important to Pause; with no fixing, no judgment, and nothing is wrong. You are aligning and attuning into this transitional space. Be gentle and yet be Aware.
The Snake is an ancient symbol of healing and transformation. We must shed in order to actually grow. We see this in Nature daily. A new raw shoot must burst the skin of the seed it germinated in. Animals molt and shed consistently.
It is important to remember that in this transition phase of the snakes shedding; the snake is momentarily blind. The Pause is vital, the stillness is essential, for this completion and new beginnings to occur.
Sprouting into new year
The way begins slowly, bravely, mindfully to push through the frozen earth to emerge into the warmth and light, renewed.
PAUSE into the deep Yin contractions of winter’s depths of cold and darkness. ALLOW the shimmer of a new skin to awaken into the spaciousness of this in-between. We are walking in the liminal space which is an intersection, crossroads, or threshold, in order to enter a new paradigm with new vision, new hearing, new words, new breath, evolving this new skin of emergence and transformation into the Year of the Fire Horse; fully newly shifting.
It is with intention, mindfulness and consciousness that we continue to fully shed or the new skin cannot fully grow. Create this clear spaciousness within yourself and in our outer worlds. The Year of the Fire Horse wants space to roam, to create connections with creative purpose and peace.
This is final shedding. There is no going back.
Snake transforming to the Fire Horse
Choose the Horse that will accompany you this year. The Horse is one of the few animals in the Chinese Zodiac that can do well on it’s own, but prefers community and does better with the support of others.

Release and Invitation Practice: Light Within
take one postcard size piece of blank paper to be able to write on both sides
a pen
a safe container to burn and lighter or matches
a candle
Put the candle in the safe container and light. Say a prayer of invocation that is present for you and your practices to open your sacred liminal space.
STEPS
On the first side of the paper, write “I fully and consciously, intentionally release”… and then write 3 things that are potent for you that you release with as much detail as you can.
HOLD the paper between two palms, like in a prayer and say “Thank-you”
On the reverse side…and feel that you are reversing your handle, creating a new blank slate; seeing the paper as holding the two sides of perception; write, “I invite fully and consciously and intentionally”… and write 3 things that are potent for you, which you invite with as much detail as you can.
HOLD the paper between your two palms in a prayer and say “Thank-you”
Light the paper over the candle, drop into the container and let it burn itself to ashes.
Bring your hands together in front of your heart space and bow to each direction and to yourself for your practice.
Allow some quiet transition time to assimilate. Journal or draw what arises from this moment.
